     What is a good story?
     Possibly the best stories have both context and subtext, where everything relates to another thing that the reader recognizes explicitly, or alternatively implicitly.  Sometimes this is constrasted as consciously or subconsciously, respectively.  Nevertheless, art or deepness should not overpower or bore the reader, rather always strive for the ultimate goal of entertainment and immersion.  A writer should not be ashamed of being a niche, advant-garde, literary, or arthouse creative, any more than being a pulp, commercial, sensationalist, or generalist, only ashamed of failing the writer's cardinal rule - keep them turning the page, out of curiosity if for no other reason.
